Life’s Comedy: Juggling Goals, Guilt, and the Present

As November bids its farewell, and we move to the first days of December, the transition between these two months becomes a poignant reminder that while days seem to drag, years swiftly pass you by. The closing chapters of the year often prompt reflections on the journey undertaken and the goals set earlier in the year. It’s a moment to acknowledge the accomplishments, the lessons learned, and the uncharted paths that lie ahead. The realization of how swiftly the months have slipped away evokes a sense of urgency to savour the present and make the most of the time remaining.

I had decided to regularly post in this blog but time and again something or the other came up which led me to realize how you never have enough time in life! 24 hours are very limited and considering how we get only one life, it is very essential to make the most of those limited days and hours.

Central to this is the critical consideration of where we direct our energy. Often, we find ourselves engrossed in social or personal endeavours that not only drain our energy but also lead to a sense of wasted time and subsequent guilt. Thus, the key lies in choosing wisely where to devote our time and aligning our efforts with our goals and values to ensure meaningful engagement and personal growth.

However, this pursuit of a well-organized life doesn’t advocate for a constant state of productivity. It acknowledges the necessity of leisure, emphasizing that time spent in activities contributing to mental happiness and peace is never wasted, regardless of whether it essentially fits into the label of productivity.

What is also essential is to stay present in the present. Often the memories of the past or worry about the future eat up our present too. Hence, being present and devoted fully to whatever we are doing at the moment, whether writing a blog, reading, or scrolling reels, requires complete undiverted focus. In this age of refresh rate, we are so used to instant and multiple tabs remaining open that we in our minds and life are also present in too many places in one moment!

In the whimsical realm of life, time reigns as the ultimate puppet master, orchestrating a comedy of engagements related to career or life. Being all over the place sometimes makes us wonder if we missed the memo on how to be a grown-up! But hey, we’re not just helpless victims of time’s mischief; we’re potential experts in handling the clock’s tricks.
So, let’s put on our time-travelling superhero outfits, giggle at life, and show time that we’re not just passengers on its rollercoaster but skilled pros, ready to dance through the twists and turns of our always-moving lives. Why be a victim when we can be the heroes of time?

Good morning! Love this post. I completely agree. We have to make the most out of our time and not necessarily doing something productive all the time. As long as it is something we want to do and enjoy doing it. I am guilty of being a workaholic and overthinking things to the point of burn out. Recently, I learned a big lesson that there is so much more to life than a typical lifestyle of mortgages, bills, work, and repeat.
